PWW|AG has national expertise and experience helping ambulance services address the complex issues of reducing ED patient offload delays, excessive “wall times,” EMTALA and related issues. We have worked with EMS agencies and their hospital partners to collaboratively implement strategies that have proven highly effective in reducing ambulance patient offload times (APOT) and returning ambulances promptly to the service of their communities.
PWW|AG works with ambulance services that provide interfacility transports (IFTs) and non-emergency transport services. These services play an increasingly important role in overall EMS system design and sustainability, as delays and challenges in IFT services can exacerbate backups and delays in ED patient management resulting in ambulance patient offload issues. We help non-emergency and IFT providers optimize their call intake and deployment practices, including BLS, ALS and critical care services, as well as non-ambulance transport modalities such as wheelchair vans, shared ride services and other modalities.
