Dr. Donna York, DNP, RN, FAASTN, CMTE, CAFO, CACO, is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with over 30 years of experience in critical care nursing, air medical transport, EMS revenue cycle management, and healthcare technology. First and foremost a nurse, Donna built her foundation in the rotor-wing world, caring for critically ill patients in the air and leading high-performing transport teams in demanding environments.
Her work bridges the clinical and operational sides of healthcare, with a focus on improving patient outcomes, strengthening compliance, and creating sustainable, system-level strategies. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Purdue University, with a focus in informatics and safety, and currently serves as Chair of the Safety Management Training Academy.
Donna is a respected educator, speaker, and author known for translating complex challenges into meaningful solutions. Her contributions to the industry have been honored with two of the highest recognitions from the Association of Air Medical Services: the Marriott-Carlson Lifetime Achievement Award (2010), celebrating a career of visionary leadership, and the Jim Charlson Safety Award (2024), recognizing her outstanding commitment to advancing safety in medical transport.
Based in Indianapolis, Donna is also the proud mother of Caitlin, a U.S. Navy officer commissioned in 2024 and currently serving aboard the USS Gravely. She brings heart, humor, and deep professional insight to every endeavor—always advocating for the people who make healthcare work.
