Doug is widely recognized as one of the nation’s foremost EMS leaders, with a career spanning over 45 years as an EMS clinician, county EMS director and EMS administrator at the state and federal levels. He is a noted author whose numerous written contributions have helped shaped EMS, and a gifted speaker whose presentations have helped educate generations of EMS professionals.
Doug is an adjunct Assistant Professor in the University of Pittsburgh Emergency Medicine program in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and serves as vice chair of the Board of Trustees of Widener University. Outside of work, Doug is an avid bicyclist and musician, and author of an acclaimed book about the Beatles.
